The first session of the Energy Monitoring Programme in East Glendalough School was run by Susliving Tech Mentors Kevin, Elmer and Zaki. The interactive session was attended by ninety students of Transition Year, with support from Transition Year Coordinator Ric Murawaski and two other teacher colleagues.
Following Kevin’s introduction on the principles of energy monitoring, Elmer and Zaki continued with the session to explain the purpose of energy monitoring and set the framework for how the school will achieve this. An energy monitoring team of six students was selected, who will lead the school’s Energy Monitoring Programme. The class divided into six groups, and each group carried out a structural and equipment survey of a room in the school, and demonstrated their aptitude for detailed monitoring in the following presentation and feedback session. With a very able student body, enthusiastic teachers, and the continued input of Susliving, East Glendalough School is looking forward to a rewarding Energy Monitoring Programme.
