On January 12th, the Susliving Demonstration Centre hosted Muine Bheag Vocational School for a selection of workshops on sustainability. Muine Bheag Vocational School has plans to improve the biodiversity levels of the school grounds, as well as improve some recreational areas. With this in mind, the workshops kicked off with enthusiasm! The Biodiversity workshop was of particular interest, and once more our resident hen and duck were a pleasant surprise!
The Energy workshop looked at some very relevant aspects of how much energy can be consumed in the school. Finally, the Repurposing workshop provided insight into how easy it is to create furniture from recycled materials, as well as how flexibly an area can be created with minimal effort.
Along with the visiting students and teachers, the Susliving team had a very enjoyable day and look forward to our next meeting!
